Big Yellow Flower - yet another imaginatively titled painting - is purely the product of my imagination. I live in such a beautiful part of the world, surrounded by nature, so I don’t think it’s any surprise that flowers like this come to me while I am in the studio. It was still a challenge though, as I wanted to get a sense of looseness, lightness and fluidity but that is actually quite difficult to do on such a big sheet of paper. The dimensions given for tis (30 x 22in) is for the sheet of paper only. This is my first in what I hope will be a larger series - the Big Pink Flower followed this one.

This is another one of my paintings from the Highland Seasons exhibition that wasn’t framed before Lockdown began. It can be available framed or simply mounted, but we just have to wait for my framers at Inverness Framing Company to reopen!
